Getting started

To get started, provide confirmation in writing to your 3s-POS account manager that your data can be shared with Airship.

After confirmation has been provided, you'll to provide 3s-POS with;

  • An Airship REST API token

  • Your Airship Account ID

  • Central (head office) unit id

Creating an API token

You'll need to create an API "Personal Access Token" for them to be able to pass data into your account securely.

To do this. you can either;

  1. Invite your contact at 3s-POS as a user to your Airship account and let them do this themselves, or;

  2. You can do this on their behalf and pass the token on to them securely.

To create an API Personal Access Token, follow our guide here >

Airship Account ID

3s-POS also require your Airship Account ID. If you're not sure what this is, please request it from our Customer Success team.

Default unit id

When a customer registers, they will typically be signed up to a central location (i.e. Head office), then when they interact with a venue - we will get the venue level information. You will need to add your head office unit ID (or centralised unit ID) into the 3s-POS configuration. If you're not sure what this is, please request it from our Customer Success team.

Setting up the connector in 3s-POS

Within the 3s-POS backend, you will be able to add;

  • Account ID

  • Default unit ID (head office / central unit)

  • Group name (This is the group that the data will be sent to in Airship - We'd recommend keeping this as 3s-POS purchases - or something that helps identify where that data come from)

  • Airship Bearer token

Once these are set, you can select Update main data which will validate the authentication details are correct.

From there, you will be able to map the locations details for 3s-POS to Airship. You should see a list of branches that are set in 3s-POS and a dropdown next to them, which will populate with the venue names as set in Airship. Once all these are mapped, you can select update linking data and the configuration is now complete.

What data is written to Airship?

  • Contact first name

  • Contact surname

  • Contact email address

  • Contact mobile number

  • Contact email opt in status

  • Contact mobile opt in status

  • Contact unit (either Head office, or location of order)

  • Purchase data (on orders only)

    • Purchaser history - unit/location

    • Purchaser history - transaction reference

    • Purchaser history - SKU

    • Purchaser history - quantity

    • Purchaser history - value

View your data in Airship

Contacts will be stored in groups under each relevant unit/location with an appropriate group name depending on the type of customer purchase. The group name is whatever is defined in the 3s-POS configuration screen.

If you click into one of the groups, you'll see all contacts who made a purchase using that method.

Additionally, if you wish to view the purchase dates and line items, you can view this under View EPOS data, within a customer's record:
