Shopify provide an Ecommerce solution that enables products to be sold, the purchaser and purchase data can now be sent directly to your Airship account.

Getting Started

Getting set-up with Shopify is straight forward! You'll need to get the following from your shopify admin;

  • A Shopify API token

  • Your Shopify store name

Once you have this, provide it to your Airship customer success contact and we'll do the rest!

Shopify API token

You'll need to generate your own API user token, and securely provide this to your Airship contact. Follow these steps within your Shopify account;

  1. Select Apps > App and Sales channel Settings

2. Select Develop app for your store

3. Select Add App then add an app name (something like 'Airship Integration') and then Create app

4. You'll be returned to the app page, next you'll want to select Configuration and Configure the Admin API integration.

5. Next you'll need to grant permissions to the API user, we'll need the following selected;

  • Assigned Fulfilment Orders > read_assigned_fulfilment_orders

  • Customers > read_customers

  • Locations > read_locations

  • Orders > read_orders

  • Products > read_products

Once all the options are selected, click Save

6. Next select API credentials and install app

You'll then be prompted to install the app. Click Install to continue

7. Once the app is installed, an Access token will be created for you. Select Reveal Token once (Note, the token will only be accessible one time). Make a copy and provide it securely to Airship

If you lose the Access token, or need to generate a new one - you must uninstall and reinstall the app following the above steps.

Shopify store name

If you are unsure of your store name, you can get it from either;

  1. The URL (storename.myshopify.com)

  2. It will display in the dropdown option when you login

View your data in Airship

Once the connector is enabled, you will be able to see data flowing into your Airship account, by navigating to Folders & Groups.

To access your Contact Folders in Airship, scroll down to Audiences in the main menu and select Folders & Groups.

Contacts will be stored in groups under the head office unit with the group name Shopify - Purchase. Because the orders aren't venue / location specific, they will always go into head office.

If you click into one of the groups, you'll see all contacts who made a purchase through Shopify.

Additionally, if you wish to view the purchase dates and line items, you can view this under View EPOS data, within a customer's record:

Having purchase history and location information allows this integration to be used as a source of Proof of Presence (PoP) data within your campaigns and insight reports.
