How to setup the MyPlace WIFI connector

Switching on the MyPlace WIFI x Airship connector means that each time a customer is detected on your WIFI, the customer data will be automatically sent to your Airship database.


Getting Started

The integration will run in near real time, and update your database.

In order to setup the MyPlace integration, you will need the following details from Airship;

  • Airship Personal Access Token (Read + Write)

  • Airship Account ID

  • Airship unit IDs

Creating an API token

You'll need to create an API "Personal Access Token" for MyPlace to pass data into your account securely. To do this. you can either;

A) Invite your MyPlace WIFI account manager as a user to your Airship account and let them do this themselves, or;

B) You can do this on their behalf and pass the token on to them securely.

Airship Account ID

MyPlace will require your Airship Account ID. If you're not sure what this is, please request it from our Customer Success team.

Airship Unit IDs

MyPlace will require your Airship Unit IDs. If you're not sure what these are, please request it from our Customer Success team.


What data is sent to Airship?

  • First name

  • last name

  • Email address

  • Email opt-in

  • WIFI details

    • WIFI Login date/time

    • WIFI hotspot name

    • WIFI Connection type (Authenticated / connected)

    • WIFI Mac Address

    • WIFI connection Unit ID

PoP is also created when a contact is received

View your data in Airship

Contacts are sorted into Folders & Groups against the visited venue. A group is created based on the hotspot location, for example Hotel - WIFI or Bar - WIFI - depending on the setup of the locations within MyPlace.

From here, you can select your contacts - view all profile details against them.
