Useful for: Making changes to an email that's already set up on an active automated journey, like a Welcome email or Date Trigger.
Go to Emails > Saved emails and open the email that is currently linked to your Journey.
You can use the email name search filter to find the exact email you're looking for.
Once you have found the email, click the 3 dots icon in the right hand side of the email and click edit.
You will now see the email. From here you can edit the contents as needed. See our guide here about editing emails.
Once you're happy with your changes click the green save button and confirm the changes.
Now click the three dots icon in the top right of the email editor for a dropdown menu to appear. Click Update broadcasts.
After clicking Update broadcasts a popup will appear showing all your automated broadcasts. Find the broadcast (Journey) you want to update and tick the checkbox next to it.
Now scroll to the bottom of the popup (if needed) and you'll have the option to give the email a new name. Make the name something clear so you know it's the newer version, for example: 'Updated feedback email - June 2026'.
Click Update to confirm.
Viola!
The Journey will now use the updated email for any customers who trigger it from this point onwards.
Customers who already received the old version won't be affected.
On your Journey you will also see the email name change to the updated version.
