Introducing: Flight Assist AI BETA
Flight Assist is your personal AI-powered assistant dedicated to helping you uncover insights across your wealth of data through natural-language interaction. In short, a really smart, Airship-trained AI chatbot.
We’re releasing this in BETA (which means this is a first release product that we want you to use, feedback and help us develop into a really well rounded reporting & marketing tool). This is just the first small step in exploring how AI can help you uncover the power of your data, and unlock efficiencies across the platform.
This article runs through the key things to know before taking flight, but true understanding of how to make it work hard for you will come from getting your hands on it, and having a go.
Accessing Flight Assist
There are two ways in to Flight Assist
You’ll find it as an item on the side navigation. This will take you to the Flight Assist home where you’ll be able to start a new conversation, see suggestions, your previous threads, and access best practices tips and T&Cs.
You can jump directly into a new conversation by typing in your question in the Flight Assist input on your Overview page.
Your first visit
The first time you use Flight Assist AI, you’ll be asked to accept terms and conditions, and we’ll run you through some key information that’ll help you make the most of your Flight Assist experience.
If these terms and conditions aren’t accepted, you won’t be able to access Flight Assist.
Good to know
Create new groups on Airship
If you’ve asked Flight Assist to give a group of people based on criteria you’ve given it, you can then ask it to create a group on your Airship account. You’ll be prompted to choose a name for this group, and it will be placed in a folder called ‘Flight Assist’.
Draw graphs and tables
To help you visualise the information Flight Assist is giving you, you can ask it to generate a graph, chart or table.
Be conscious of the data you have available
Coming to Flight Assist with a knowledge of what data you do have available will help generate more accurate results. Asking it direct questions about data you don’t have increases the likelihood of giving spurious results.
Key areas to ask about
Email stats, feedback, booking, basket data, visit data, general guest demographics.
It knows our Academy
Flight Assist can look across our Academy to give you a helping hand with Airship.
No guest data leaves Airship
In order to generate any guest groups, Flight Assist uses AI only to build the ‘query’, or request, that is then used within Airship to surface the relevant data.
It’s trained to remain on-topic
We’ve trained it to stay firmly in the lane of helping you with your Airship account.
Threads are on a user level
Threads, or conversations, are saved on a user level rather than an account level. Other users on your account won’t be able to see your threads.
It is linked to our academy
So you can ask it things like “how do I set up a welcome email” and it will give you the steps to work through.
User guidance
Be specific and clear
Try "How did our latest email campaign perform?" rather than "Tell me about our marketing campaigns."
Break down more complex requests
Instead of "Analyse our customer feedback and suggest improvements," ask "What are the common themes in our customer feedback?" followed by "What improvements do customers suggest most often?"
Specify the format
Ask it to "Provide a list of the top 5 most effective promotions?" instead of "What are our best promotions?"
Iterate and refine
If the answer isn’t quite right, follow up with "Can you explain that in simpler terms?" or "Can you give more details on our customer retention rates?"
Be patient and experiment
If the first response isn’t what you expected, rephrase your question or try a different approach.
Help us improve
We’re committed to continual iteration of the model to improve its effectiveness, and your feedback is vital in that process. Hovering your mouse over any response will give the opportunity to tell us if the response was good or not so good. This goes directly to us so we can directly target areas to improve.
If you’ve got any more detailed feedback, please let us know via this form or get in touch with us through your normal channels and we’d love to hear how it’s going.
