Where to find the Contacts reports
To find your reports, log into Airship and go to Insights > Reports. This will open in a new tab in your browser.
Once you're in, click Contacts from the left-hand sidebar.

The Contacts section is all about your database. The reports here help you understand who is on your database, where they came from, how it's growing over time, and how contacts are opting in and out. If you want to get a better picture of your audience, this is the place to start.

π Age range breakdown by location
Shows you how age ranges differ across your different locations, so you can compare the age profile of your database site by site.
Useful for: Spotting whether different venues attract different age groups.

Shows you the percentage of your database that falls into each age range across your whole account.
Useful for: Understanding the overall age profile of your customers at a glance.
π Contact totals by day
Shows you how many contacts were on your database for each day within a date range you choose. It includes both opted-in and opted-out contacts.
Useful for: Seeing how your database has grown or changed day by day over a specific period.
π Contact totals by day and location
The same as above but broken down by location, so you can see the daily contact figures for each of your venues separately.
Useful for: Comparing how database size varies across your locations over time.
π Database trends
Shows you the growth trend of your database as a percentage over a date range you choose.
Useful for: Quickly seeing whether your database is growing, shrinking, or staying flat over a given period.

The same as above but broken down by location, so you can see the growth trend for each venue separately.
Useful for: Spotting which locations are growing their databases fastest and which might need more attention.
ποΈ Deleted contacts
Shows you the total number of contacts that have been deleted from your database over a date range you choose.
Useful for: Keeping track of how many contacts have been removed and when.
π§ Email opt-ins across a date range
Shows you how many contacts newly opted in to receive marketing emails across your account within a date range you choose.
Useful for: Tracking how your opted-in database is growing over time.
π€ Gender breakdown of your database
Shows you the percentage of your database that identifies as Male, Female, or Other.
Useful for: Understanding the overall gender split of your customer base.
π€ Gender by location report
The same as above but broken down by location, so you can see how gender splits differ across your venues.
Useful for: Spotting whether different locations attract a different gender mix.
π₯ Group Additions Report
Shows you how many new contacts were added to each of your groups over a date range, broken down by location and group name.
Useful for: Keeping track of how your groups are growing and spotting which ones are getting the most new additions.
π New contacts by location
Shows you how many new contacts have joined your database, broken down by location and month. Includes both opted-in and opted-out contacts.
Useful for: Seeing which locations are bringing in the most new contacts month by month.
π New contacts by source
Shows you how many new contacts entered your database broken down by source, such as WiFi sign-up or booking platform. You can compare two date ranges side by side and filter by opt-in status.
Useful for: Understanding where your new contacts are coming from and which sources are performing best.

Shows you how many contacts were added to a group for the first time within a date range you choose.
Useful for: Tracking how many contacts are being added to specific groups and when.
π’ Number of contacts associated with multiple locations
Shows you how many of your contacts are connected to more than one of your venues.
Useful for: Understanding how many of your customers visit multiple locations rather than just one.
π Opted-in contacts with a DOB
Shows you the total number of opted-in contacts on your database who have a date of birth recorded.
Useful for: Knowing how many contacts will receive a birthday email if you have one set up.
π Opted-in contacts with a DOB by location
The same as above but broken down by location, so you can see the figures for each venue separately.
Useful for: Comparing how many contacts per location have a date of birth on record.
π₯ Total contacts added by group - where contacts created when added
Shows you how many contacts were added to each group over a date range, including both opted-in and opted-out contacts. Only counts contacts who were brand new to the database at the point they were added to the group.
Useful for: Seeing how many genuinely new contacts are being captured through specific groups or sign-up methods.
π Total new joiners who opted in
Shows you how many contacts who were new to your database within a date range also opted in to marketing at the same time, as opposed to opting in at a later date.
Useful for: Understanding how many new contacts are opting in straight away versus coming back to opt in later.
β Total opted-in contacts
Shows you the total number of unique contacts on your database who are opted in to receive marketing - in other words, the contacts you can actually email or text.
Useful for: Quickly finding out the size of your marketable database.
π« Total unsubscribes
Shows you the total number of contacts who unsubscribed over a date range you choose.
Useful for: Keeping an eye on how many contacts are opting out and spotting any spikes after a campaign.
π« Total unsubscribes per location
The same as above but broken down by location, so you can see unsubscribe numbers for each venue separately.
Useful for: Spotting whether unsubscribes are higher at certain locations than others.
