Step 1: Finding your reports π
Log into your Airship account
Click Insights in the main navigation
Click Reports
Reports will open in a new tab in your browser
Step 2: Downloading a report β¬οΈ
Click a category from the Reports sidebar and find the report you want to run.
Fill in any settings it asks for - most reports will ask for a date range at minimum where you select the date and time you want your report to pull data to and from.
Hit the blue Run Report button when you're ready.
Your report will then appear in the 'recent reports' list just below with a Pending label while it gets ready.
Once the report is ready, the pending label changes to New and you'll see View and Download buttons appear.
Clicking View will open the report inside your Airship dashboard and look something like this:
π Can't see the View button? Your report is too large to preview in the browser - just click Download instead.
Click Download to save it as a CSV file to your computer.
Open the downloaded file in Excel, Google Sheets, or whatever spreadsheet tool you use.
If at any point during or after downloading a report you want to stop the download or remove it from the downloaded list, click the red Delete button.
How long do reports take to download? π
Most reports are ready within a few minutes. That said:
β³ Larger reports with lots of data can take a few hours
β³ During busy periods on the Airship server it might take a little longer too
π You don't need to stay on the page - feel free to click away or even log out and come back later to check the report's download status
Reports stay available for up to 24 hours once downloaded - you can see the expiry date and time listed on the report. Once expired, the View and Download buttons will disappear and you'll need to re-run the report (if needed).
π‘ If you're running multiple reports under the same section, you can collapse them to get a quick overview of which ones are ready (New report available) and which are still processing (1 report pending) - without having to open each one individually.
Making the most of your data π§
Once you've opened your CSV in a spreadsheet program, you can edit it, tidy it up, and start to make sense of it. A few ideas:
π Create charts or graphs to spot trends at a glance
π’ Sort and filter the data to focus on what matters to you
π€ If the report doesn't contain any personal customer data, why not drop it into an AI tool to get an instant summary or analysis? It can save a lot of time!
