A brief guide on contact profiles

Find out what a contact profile is and what you can do on it.

What is a contact profile? πŸ€”

A contact profile is a page in Airship that holds all the information Airship has on a single customer.

This includes their name, email address, mobile number, opt-in status, which groups they belong to, and a history of emails they have been sent.

You can use a contact's profile to view and manage their details directly, without having to make changes in bulk.

How to find a contact's profile πŸ”

To access any contact's profile, go to Insights > Dashboard (classic) and search for the contact using their email address or mobile number.

What can you do from a contact's profile? πŸ”„

Update their opt-in status πŸ“

You can change whether a contact is opted in or out of emails and SMS messages. You would do this if a customer asks to be added to or removed from your mailing list, or if you need to correct their preferences.

βœ‹ Only opt a contact in if they have given you written permission. This is a requirement under GDPR.

Add or remove them from a group πŸ‘₯

Groups are used to organise your contacts and control who receives certain emails or SMS campaigns. From a contact's profile you can add them to a new group or remove them from an existing one.

Re-send an email they cannot find πŸ“§

If a contact says they never received an email, or cannot find it in their inbox, you can view their sent email history and re-send it directly from their profile.

Delete the contact ❌

If a customer asks to be removed from your database entirely, you can permanently delete their profile. Under GDPR, you are required to action this within one month of their request.

⚠️ Deleting a contact is permanent and cannot be undone. If they simply want to stop receiving messages, update their opt-in status instead.
